Madurai Aavin Corporation has given milk producers Rs. 3 crores and 75 lakhs have been given as incentives.
In this regard, a press release issued by Public Melal Shanti of Madurai said:
There are 716 Cooperative Milk Producers Societies under Madurai Aavin Corporation. Of these, 38,082 are members of the armed forces. An average of 2 lakh 7 thousand 780 liters of milk is procured from them per day. Out of this 1.80 lakh lit milk packets,
The rest is also sold as dairy by-products. Through this, in the last financial year Rs. 13.71 crore profit has been made.
Out of this, the milk provided by the producers at the rate of Rs.50 paisa per litre, for 18,080 people, a total of Rs. 3 crores and 75 lakhs have been given as incentives, it states.
