The Rocket and Space Corporation (RKK) Energia (a division of the State Corporation Roscosmos) has developed a machine designed to remove large stones, cut surface elements, loosen and other work on the Moon. This is stated in the description of the invention to the patent, TASS reports.

“The engineering moon machine contains a supporting truss frame, a running gear, a console and control units, equipment for construction and earthmoving purposes, caterpillar-wheel modules with the possibility of transforming them into wheel propellers and flooring,” the development is described in the document.

The developers of the technology say that the lunar machine will have a frame, on which, on the one hand, an arrow with an excavator bucket and a bulldozer blade will be fixed, and on the opposite side, a ripper, racks with handrails, autonomous portable consoles. The machine will also place a platform for the astronaut. It will be fixed on it with the help of special mounts for the spacesuit boots, a semi-rigid stop under the spacesuit satchel and a magnetic lock.
