Vidux-Szeged RSE and MAFC met this time in the championship after the victory in the first leg of the round of 16 of the Hungarian Cup on Thursday. The team from Tisza started well, and after winning the first set, the team from Budapest was able to win a close game, thus equalizing the game. In the third game, MAFC controlled and brought it with confidence, so the visitors were already in the lead. The match was decided in the fourth game, although the Szeged team fought a five-set battle several times during the season, this time the championship did not go away. At 22-22, two guest points followed, which decided the match, MAFC fought back for the defeat suffered in the cup. RSE Vidux-Szegedi thus suffered their first defeat at home in the championship, and will next play as a guest of MÁV Előre on Saturday.

Zoltán Berkes: – I thank the guys that several of them accepted the meeting even though they were sick. We went into this game the way we should. That is, in a disciplined manner, following the instructions we discussed. There was nothing wrong with the motivation and the will, but unfortunately we made bad decisions from the second game on, which brought MAFC back into the game and let us down a bit. When we started to stick to what was agreed upon again, we couldn’t find the rhythm of the match anymore, and we couldn’t mentally find our way back into the match. Illnesses broke out in the 3rd set, which is why, for example, we couldn’t find the rhythm in the block either. Although they beat us to the ground in the game with a little exaggeration, there really isn’t that big of a difference between the two teams, but that was the end of the many small mistakes. What we were able to pay attention to on Thursday, we cannot now. Our game was predictable, which the opponent took advantage of.
