The RTL presenter is known for her blonde curls. Now Katja Burkard is showing off without her trademark hair. She herself is not very enthusiastic about the look.
She is one of the channel’s flagships. Katja Burkard has been in front of the camera for RTL for around 30 years, and took over as the main presenter of the midday magazine “Punkt 12” in 1997. Over all these years, she has always remained true to her look: her blonde curls have become her trademark.
On Tuesday, many viewers probably had to look twice, because Katja Burkard greeted them with a new hairstyle from the “Punkt 12” studio. There was no longer any sign of her voluminous mane, instead her long hair fell straight over her shoulders.
However, the 59-year-old didn’t really feel comfortable with it, as she revealed a little later on Instagram. “I’m not that excited,” the presenter wrote on two photos showing her with the unusual styling.
Her fans, on the other hand, are delighted with the change and shower Katja Burkard with compliments in the comments on the post. “I think it’s great,” “It suits you incredibly well,” and “Wow, a completely different woman! Please wear it like that more often” are just some of the numerous positive comments.
In a story, the presenter revealed to her colleague Philipp Pauls how she came up with the look. “I was in bed last night with wet hair and because I have a bit of a cold, I was tossing and turning the whole time. This morning I looked like I had plugged into a socket,” said Katja Burkard. Her stylist then decided to use the straightener while wearing a make-up mask before the show.
“I feel completely different,” revealed the 59-year-old, remaining skeptical. Despite all the support, Katja Burkard will probably be back in front of the camera on Wednesday with her usual curly hair.
