RTP starts bidding to acquire 50 electrical units

With a budget of 375 million pesos, the head of Government Marti Batres announced the start of the tender to acquire 50 electric buses for the Passenger Transport Network (RTP).

“We are practically electrifying the entire transportation system. We already have an initial budget of 375 million pesos for the acquisition of these 50 electric buses new ones,” he mentioned.

Regarding the new units, the general director of the RTP, Sergio Benito Osorio He explained that they have a range of around 300 kilometers and capacity for one hundred people.

Furthermore, he announced that they will be used from August, on two routes with around 300 thousand users each.

“These buses will be running route 34, which goes from the Center to Santa Fe. And route 57 that will go from the Cuatro Caminos Metro to Constitución de 1917,” he explained.

About the process of bidding, indicated that:

“The companies are going to present their proposals towards the second half of the month of May and we will have the decision of this tender in the second half of the month.”

In his participation, the Secretary of Mobility of CDMX, Andres Lajous He described the acquisition of the units as a milestone, noting that it guides the process of electrification of the network.

“It sets the tone for the future. Once it acquires this electric fleet, the company will be prepared with its drivers, mechanics, to continue the RTP electrification process,” he said.
