At the GTC Spring 2022 conference, Nvidia unveiled a new video card, the RTX A5500 designed for professional, stationary and mobile workstations for users in the creative field of video, computer animation, as well as demanding processing tasks.

The RTX A5500 is actually based on features similar to those of the RTX 3080 Ti designed for the home market, only here it comes with a built-in error control mechanism (ECC) in memory. It is equipped with 10,240 CUDA cores and is based on the second generation of RT core with a performance of 34 teraflops per second (TFLOPS).

It comes with 24GB of GDDR6 technology working memory, but is capable of growing to 48GB when plugged into an additional A5500 card with Nvidia NVLink connectivity. The company says that the new card is capable of providing double 9 times the speed for motion processing (Motion Blur Rendering) and up to 12 times in machine learning tasks.

Nvidia is also targeting the A5500 for laptops. In this version based on the GA103 chip simply known as NVIDIA RTX, the company will provide slightly more modest but still advanced data. Among other things, it will offer 7,424 CUDA cores, 16GB of GDDR6 (but not ECC) memory and 24.7 terrap-per-second performance.

The RTX A5500 card is available to customers from today, while the mobile version will arrive later this year by the best manufacturers. Apart from this the company has announced a number of cheaper models which can be found in this list.
