Mars Media Entertainment is one of the few leading film companies (the projects of such companies are given priority support by the Cinema Fund) that systematically works with debutant directors. It was here that Anna Melikyan, Kirill Pletnev, Olga Zueva, Yana Gladkikh, Sergey Puskepalis, Ruslan Bratov shot their first feature films. The filming period for the film adaptation of Bulgakov’s The Master and Margarita has recently ended. For the young director Mikhail Lokshin, this is just the second work in the cinema.
In an interview with Vedomosti, Ruben Dishdishyan, the founder of Mars Media Entertainment, told why the company decided to entrust one of the most expensive and ambitious projects in the industry to a novice author, about the window of opportunity that opened up for Russian producers after Hollywood left, and also why the film company took part in the launch new film distributor.
