return to Ciak theater in Romeon stage until tomorrow, the ‘Process’ taken from the novel by Franz Kafkaa work that had already inaugurated the season of the hall on the Cassia two years ago now entrusted to the artistic direction of Mariano Rigillo. Playing the role of the protagonist Joseph K is also this time Ruben Rigillohere joined by Riccardo Barbera and Mario Scaletta and directed by the director Anna Masullo for the adaptation signed by Massimiliano Giovannetti and Michele Montemagno. The waking nightmare experienced by the protagonist is that of being accused and tried for something he did not commit and which is unknown not only to him but to the court itself.

The story sees him accused of an unexpressed crime, under arrest but left on the loose, forced against his will to face the absurd and paradoxical situation linked to a judicial fact that is tangled in increasingly inextricable knots. The theme of the administration of justice, which Kafka tackles with an attitude of tragic resignation, with the corollaries linked to the phenomena of corruption, arbitrariness, dull bureaucracy, violence of power, refers to that of Justice understood in its most universal sense. Joseph K he is guilty ‘regardless’, to the point of losing the reasons for his innocence himself.

“The ‘Process’ had inaugurated the 2021 season in the midst of the pandemic – he recalls Michael Montemagno – After all the efforts made and the ‘Kafka’ period experienced, we wanted to re-propose the same show this season, highly appreciated by the critics but seen by a reduced number of spectators due to the known restrictions. We symbolically close a dark and tortuous period by dedicating this important show to our audience who have always supported us warmly”.
