D-6 before the start of the 2023 Rugby World Cup. As Fabien Galthié’s Blues take up residence this Saturday afternoon near Rueil-Malmaison, in Hauts-de-Seine, their opponents are also settling all over France. Starting with New Zealand, the first obstacle on the way to the Tricolores, this Friday September 8 (9:15 p.m.) at the Stade de France.

The All-Blacks, who will take up residence in Lyon for the duration of the World Cup, arrived this Thursday, August 31 and stopped off in the Somme. Ian Foster and his men went to Longueval, within the New Zealand memorial erected in tribute to the 1205 soldiers of the New Zealand Division who fell during the Battle of the Somme in 1916, during the First World War and whose bodies were n have never been found. The 33 players thus performed their first haka on French soil to celebrate the memory of their elders.

For their part, the Fijians, whose base camp is located in Lormont, near Bordeaux, arrived this Saturday. To welcome them, a ceremony was organized at the cultural space of the Bois Fleurie. To thank the locals, the players from the Pacific archipelago sang a traditional song that marked the spirits of the guests present on site.

Fiji will enter the fray on Sunday September 10 against Wales (9 p.m.), at the Stade du Matmut-Atlantique in Bordeaux.
