Public gardening with a security room where electronic voting machines are kept
District Returning Officer and Collector T. Bhaskara Pandian inspected the Arakkonam and Walajapet counting centers where electronic voting machines are kept in Ranipettai district on Saturday night.
According to the local government, the votes cast in the five municipalities of Ranipettai, Walaja, Arcot, Cholinga and Melvisharam in the Ranipettai district will be counted at the Walaja Arijna Anna Government Girls’ College of Arts and Science, the counting center.
Votes cast in Arakkonam Municipality are to be counted at Arakkonam Krishna Engineering College. In addition, votes cast in 8 municipalities of Takkolam, Panappakkam, Nemili, Kaveripakkam, Ammu, Vilapakkam, Thiri and Kalavai are to be counted at Ranipettai Engineering College.
In this case, electronic voting machines are kept in the security room at the above three counting centers. Following this, in the presence of political party figures, the security room was locked and sealed by the authorities. Police security has been deployed there with guns
