The businessman Rumen Gaitanski, nicknamed the Wolf, who is currently under investigation arrest, will be nominated as a candidate deputy by the coalition around Ahmed Dogan – “Alliance for Rights and Freedoms” in the Sliven constituency. This was announced to the BNR by the chairman of the party in Sliven, Vladimir Martinov.

The nomination is expected to be made at a district meeting on Monday. Martynov stated that Gaitanski’s promotion was his personal decision:

“So what made me? It’s that simple. I’m a lawyer and I have a very strong sense of justice. And seeing the situation in Bulgaria, that prompted me to nominate Rumen Gaitanski”.

The other motive for promoting the candidacy of the detained businessman is that he would also be successful in politics.

“He is a successful and proven person. Why shouldn’t she be successful? Against the background of these MPs, the others who are so “successful”, Matrinov asks.

Vladimir Martynov also commented on the split of the DPS and the reflection on the members and sympathizers of the party in the region:

“People’s reaction is very negative. The topic is very sensitive and all these actions that are being done at the moment by the other camp are not well received at all”.

Businessman Rumen Gaitanski is one of the three defendants in the affair with the unsecured loan in the amount of BGN 150 million granted in 2019 to a company related to Gaitanski by the Bulgarian Development Bank.
