Rumer Willis shared a new update on her father Bruce Willis’s health amid his battle with dementia.
The actress responded to a fan’s question about Bruce Willis through her Instagram Stories on Thursday, August 22.
“He is wonderful. I love him so much. Thank you,” noted the 35-year-old Rumer Willis, as she shared a photo of her father holding hands.
It was in 2022 that the family of the famous actor shared with his fans that the 69-year-old actor had been diagnosed with aphasia, a disorder that affects a person’s ability to communicate.
The Announcement to Bruce Willis’s Fans
“To the amazing supporters of Bruce Willis, as a family, we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce is facing some health challenges and was recently diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities,” his family noted in a statement.
“As a result of this, and with much consideration, Bruce is stepping away from the career that meant so much to him,” they concluded in their message.
A year later, the family shared that Bruce Willis’s condition had progressed to a more specific diagnosis. He was suffering from frontotemporal dementia.
In addition to Rumer, Bruce Willis also has his daughter Scout, 33, Tallulah, 30, with Demi Moore, and daughters Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10, with his wife Emma Heming.
His family has since been fully by the side of the famous actor.
“This experience has brought the whole family even closer together,” a source told Us Weekly in December 2023. “No one knows how much time Bruce Willis has left, so they cherish every moment they get to spend with him.”
