Rumors have been spreading for the past one week that North State workers are being attacked all over Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu government is taking various measures to allay the fears of the northern workers.
In this situation, a team of Bihar officials held a consultation with the District Collector of Tirupur regarding the safety of North State workers. A team of 4 officers from Bihar consulted the District Collector. Police officers participated in this meeting.
After the consultation, a team of Bihar officials said in a press conference:-
We conducted an investigation into the video of North State workers being assaulted. A detailed consultation was held on curbing the spread of rumors regarding the issue of migrant workers. We met not only officials but also representatives of industry associations.
Normalcy has returned due to the action of the Tamil Nadu government. Tamil Nadu Government’s actions in the matter of North State workers are satisfactory. The rumor that migrant workers were attacked is not true at all, and the Tamil Nadu government is taking steps to stop the rumours.
On behalf of the Tirupur District Police, awareness is being created among the workers. On behalf of the Bihar government, we express our gratitude to the Tirupur district administration for taking immediate and appropriate action on the issue of migrant workers.
