The Directorate of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has given details through a press release about the confusion and rumors spread about the misunderstanding between the police and army patrols of Ashulia police station.

In a press release on Wednesday (August 7) ​​noon, ISPR said that a patrol team from Savar cantonment reached near Ashulia police station on August 5 in order to protect lives and property. Due to a misunderstanding, the deputy commander of the patrol and an unidentified person were shot dead by the police and some army personnel were hit by rubber bullets. was injured

As soon as the patrol party with the injured left for the cantonment, the policemen stationed in and around the police station started firing in the opposite direction hoping to get help from the army patrol party. In this case, they are quickly identified and disarmed.

The ISPR also said that after receiving information about the sheltering of the policemen in the cantonment, a few angry mobs gathered in front of the Dendabar Military Police Checkpost in Savar cantonment and demanded the handover of the policemen to them. At this stage, the angry crowd left the place when the policemen were assured of disarmament, identification and legal action.
