Russia, Amazon no longer ships and suspends Prime Video broadcasts

by time news

Amazon took even more drastic solutions after Russia invaded Ukraine, announcing the immediate suspension of shipments throughout Russia and Belarus, as well as the stop of Prime Video broadcasts. Amazon has also suspended orders for its hit MMO New World. The company had already announced yesterday that it would not accept new subscriptions either for its online shop or for AWS, the database storage and processing service. “Unlike other US technology providers, Amazon and AWS have no data centers, infrastructure or offices in Russia, and we have a long-term policy of not doing business with the Russian government,” the company said in an official statement. Although the Russian e-commerce industry has had an explosion in recent years, it is dominated by local vendors such as Wildberries.ru and Ozon.ru.
