by time news

The head of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin said on the air of Soloviev Live that Russia and the United States had reached an agreement to send a joint mission to explore Venus.

Rogozin recalled that only Soviet vehicles had previously landed on Venus. He pointed to the peculiarities of the planet’s atmosphere as a factor preventing the sending of research missions there.

The US has already announced its intention to explore Venus after 2025. They plan to send Davinchi + and Veritas robotic stations to the planet.

Russia plans to send the Venera-D station in 2029.
