During these talks, the two ministers reviewed the fruitful cooperation relations between the two countries in various fields and ways to raise them to higher levels.
They also expressed their pride in the level of close cooperation and active solidarity between the two Kingdoms, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, and His brother, His Majesty King Hamad Ben Issa Al-Khalifa.
This meeting was an opportunity for Mr. Bourita to reiterate the constant position of the Kingdom of Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, which supports the Kingdom of Bahrain and stands by its side against any interference in its internal affairs and any attempt to undermine its security, stability and national unity.
For his part, Mr. Al-Zayani reaffirmed the position of the Kingdom of Bahrain in favor of the Moroccan Sahara, which was reinforced by the opening, on December 14, 2020, of a Consulate General of Bahrain in Laayoune, by decision of His Majesty King Hamad Ben Issa Al-Khalifa.
The two ministers also welcomed the holding of the first meeting of the Moroccan-Bahraini joint consular commission on December 6 in Rabat.
In this context, Mr. Bourita reaffirmed Morocco’s support for the organization by the Kingdom of Bahrain of the first international congress on consular work in the first quarter of 2024.
The two sides further reviewed the situation in the Middle East region and the large-scale acts of violence and destruction in the Gaza Strip, stressing the need for the international community and influential countries to exert further efforts to achieve an immediate, comprehensive and permanent ceasefire and to facilitate the delivery of aid in an urgent, sufficient, safe and unhindered manner.
