The government approved changes to the list of malfunctions and conditions under which the operation of vehicles is prohibited. In particular, drivers are prohibited from using summer tires in winter, and winter tires in summer, corresponding resolution published on the Legal Information Portal.
“The vehicle is equipped with tires with anti-skid spikes used in the summer (June, July, August). The vehicle of categories M1 and N1 is not equipped with winter tires during the winter period (December, January, February),” the list of faults says.
Amendments to the main provisions on the admission of vehicles for operation of October 1993 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia explained the fact that over the past decades, the design of manufactured vehicles and trailers for them has changed significantly.
As a result, the updated list establishes additional requirements for buses, prohibiting their use in the presence of through corrosion and destruction of the floor in the cabin, as well as for tow trucks, tanks, etc. Methods for identifying vehicle malfunctions were also specified. The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized that when developing changes to the list, suggestions and comments from business representatives and specialized specialists were taken into account.
The regulation will come into force on September 1, 2023.
