The Ministry of Reconstruction of Ukraine denounced on Monday that Russia Has “Effectively” Stopped the Black Sea Grains Dealwhich allows Ukrainian products to be exported.

As reported by the Reuters agency, the official body of Ukraine stated that Russia is refusing to register incoming vessels.

It should be remembered that Ukrainian ports remain blocked by Russia since the invasion of February 2022, but there are three who were released under an agreement reached in the middle of last year between the two countrieswith the mediation of Türkiye and the United Nations Organization.

“The Russian Federation once again effectively stopped the Grain Initiative by refusing to search incoming vessels and carry out their inspections. This approach contradicts the terms of the current agreement,” the Ukrainian ministry said in a statement.

and specified that they are 90 ships, including 62 cargo, which are on standby in the territorial waters of Turkey, awaiting approval to go to the ports of Ukraine.

Alert in the grain market: Russia again threatens to abandon the Black Sea agreement

A key issue in this context is that the agreement that makes this “safe corridor” possible expires on May 18, and Russia has already given ample evidence of its intention to abandon it if several of your orders are not accepted; Fundamentally, that the trade barriers imposed by the West be lifted.

It should be remembered that Ukraine’s foreign trade is key in the world food marketsince it is one of the leading countries in exports of wheat, corn and sunflower, among other products.
