Russia can take part in the gasification of Kazakhstan

The Kazakh authorities are considering two options for gasification of cities in the north and east of the country, said Kazakh Energy Minister Magzum Mirzagaliyev at a government meeting. One of these options involves the construction of trunk gas pipelines from Russia, he said.

“Today the cities of Petropavlovsk, Kokshetau, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Semey, Pavlodar are not supplied with gas. At the same time, there are the following options for gasification of these cities: the continuation of the Saryarka gas pipeline or the construction of main gas pipelines from the Russian Federation, ”said Mr. Mirzagaliyev (quoted by TASS).

According to him, Gazprom and Kaztransgaz are planning to carry out calculations for gasification of the northern and eastern regions and work out an acceptable option by the end of the year. Today, the share of gasification in Kazakhstan is 54.3%. By 2025, this figure is planned to be increased to 60%.
