CountryThe specialists of the Scientific-Technical Council of the “Lavochkin” company, as a branch of the Russian “Roskosmos” space agency, approved a technical proposal for the design of the “Venera-D” scientific station for the study of the planet Venus.

A spokesman for the Russian space agency, “Ross Cosmos”, said: “The second phase of the design of the Russian scientific station “Venera-D” has been concluded, by submitting a technical proposal that will be directed to the facilities of “Ross Cosmos” for study, modifications and approval.”

It is noteworthy that the “Venera-D” mission, which consists of 3 sections, provides for a long study of the planet Venus, with the use of a wide range of scientific instruments that will be installed in the orbital probe and another probe that will operate in the planet’s atmosphere, and a platform that will land on its surface.

The purpose of the project is to continue the studies at a high technical level that were conducted by the Soviet and American space stations in the sixties – nineties of the last century.

In the past years, a large amount of information has been accumulated regarding the structure and components of the atmosphere of Venus, its clouds, the components of the planet’s soil, and the speed of the wind on its surface.

A statement published by “Ross Cosmos” said that there are a number of problems related to the development of the greenhouse effect on Venus, and others still exist, and the Russian space station that will be sent to Venus will work to solve them.
