Il-76 planes with people evacuated from Kabul landed at the Chkalovsky airfield near Moscow. The evacuation was organized by the RF Ministry of Defense, citizens of Russia, Armenia, Afghanistan, Belarus and Ukraine were evacuated.
Military medics were on board to escort and provide medical assistance, RIA Novosti reports, citing a press release from the Ministry of Defense. The planes also delivered over 36 tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.
In total, it is planned to evacuate 1,000 people from Kabul; at the first stage, 380 were taken out. Evacuation from Afghanistan has been going on since mid-August, when the Taliban terrorist movement (banned in the Russian Federation) seized power in the country.
