Russia has long been involved in trying to capture Ukraine. But Ukraine, which does not want to join Russia, has aligned itself with the West EU.
The United States is seeking to include Ukraine in the NATO military alliance. Unwilling to do so, Russia is deploying its forces along its borders in an attempt to invade Ukraine.
It has set up millions of soldiers, including artillery and missile systems. In addition, Russian forces are concentrated on the Ukrainian border with Russia’s ally Belarus.
