For his part, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, said that the founder of Telegram had “made a fatal mistake” by leaving Russia to become a “citizen of the world”, because for the West he still he will still remain a “dangerous Russian”, BTA reported.

Medvedev recalled a conversation he had with Durov several years ago, in which he told him that if he did not want to cooperate with law enforcement, there would be problems in every country.

Pavel Durov was detained at Bourges airport outside Paris last night. According to the initial data, the reason for his arrest was the insufficient moderation of the content in “Telegram”. Local media reported that because of this, charges related to terrorism, drug trafficking, fraud and child pornography could be brought against him.
