KIAV: Russia has stepped up its offensive in Kiev and other western cities as the war in Ukraine enters its 52nd day. Several airstrikes were reported in Kiev and Kharkiv on Saturday.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Selensky has announced that he will provide housing for Ukrainian citizens who lost their homes in the war. Selensky has announced plans to provide temporary housing for internally displaced people and those protecting the country.

Russian authorities have blamed Ukrainian airstrikes on the border town of Bryansk, and Russia has stepped up its offensive in the capital, Kiev, and other western cities. Moscow claimed that it was only targeting military bases, but witnesses denied this.

Mayor Vitaly Klitschko has called on citizens to stop returning to the capital, Kiev, as attacks intensify again. Russia’s Defense Ministry has said a car bomb had exploded at an Iraqi police recruiting center at Kisak, west of Baghdad.

Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement barring British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and other officials from entering Russia. The decision comes in response to sanctions imposed by the British government on Russia.

Ukrainian officials estimate that between 2,500 and 3,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed and at least 10,000 wounded in the war. It is estimated that about 700 Ukrainian soldiers and more than 1,000 civilians were taken hostage by Russian forces.
