The Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology has announced the development of a multi-purpose drone powered by hydrogen fuel.

An expert at the Institute’s Independent Energy Engineering Center, Vladimir Zinoviov, said: “The new aircraft we developed uses hydrogen fuel cells and fuel cells as an energy source.”“.

He added: “The aircraft was designed to be used in missions to monitor oil and gas pipelines and power lines. , unlike internal combustion engine drones where a trace of their fuel remains.” It stays in the air for up to six hours.

He continued: “We have developed a fuel supply station for this aircraft in the form of a small container, so that we can use the aircraft in combat zones. This station can fill the aircraft’s fuel tank with pressurized hydrogen up to 350 bars, and in less than five minutes.”.

Zinoviev pointed out that “the new aircraft can fly in the air for more than two hours during each mission, and can reach a height of more than 2,000 meters. It is also equipped with high-resolution cameras that allow that it is an indispensable mechanism in operations.”
