Russia orders nuclear weapons exercises near Ukraine

Russia has announced the realization of nuclear exercises “in the near future” near Ukraine. The measure comes in response to statements by Western leaders about a possible deployment of troops in Ukraine, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

These exercises aim to train the preparation and use of nuclear weapons non-strategic, which could be deployed on the battlefield and launched through missiles.

The announcement of the nuclear tests comes amid growing tensions between Russia and the West, especially following French President Emmanuel Macron’s recent statements about the possible sending of troops to Ukraine.
