Russia sent two divisions of S-400 air defense missile systems to Belarus

The Russian Ministry of Defense transferred two divisions of long-range S-400 Triumph air defense systems (ADS) from the Far East to Belarus. The equipment will be used in the joint military exercises “Allied Resolve-2022”, which was announced last week by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

During the exercises, air defense units will march in a combined way on railway transport and on their own to unfamiliar training grounds of the Republic of Belarus.

“Upon arrival at the places where training tasks are performed, Russian military personnel will carry out equipment and camouflage of launch positions, maintenance and will take up air defense training combat duty as part of the Unified Regional Air Defense System of Belarus and Russia,” the Ministry of Defense said.

The Allied Resolve-2022 exercises will be held from February 10 to 20 at the Domanovsky, Gozhsky, Obuz-Lesnovsky, Brest and Osipovichsky training grounds, as well as in certain areas of the area. The airfields of Baranovichi, Luninets, Lida and Machulishchi will be involved. Earlier, the first units of the RF Armed Forces arrived in the republic.
