In Sochi, a city in southern Russia overlooking the Black Sea, a strong storm broke out on Saturday 22 August, leading to the closure of the beaches and disruption to the airport, which was out of service due to the bad weather.

In the images of the storm, you can see business owners trying to save their equipment from the force of the wind, and bathers on the city’s beaches continuing to swim despite the less than promising weather conditions, and despite the bans.
It appears that due to bad weather, around twenty planes were unable to land at the Russian city’s airport, with some flights diverted nearby.
A hurricane blows away Russia’s Sochi – the beaches are closed and the airport is out of service. Airplanes are sent to neighboring cities.
