New York: Russia has announced its suspension from the UN human rights body.
Russia has been urged to suspend itself from the human rights movement in the wake of the massacre in Pucha, Ukraine. The referendum took place at the UN General Assembly following US insistence.
At the General Assembly, 93 countries voted in favor of the resolution. The resolution was opposed by 24 countries and 58 countries, including India. Action has been taken against Russia because most countries support the resolution.
