The Russian armed forces carried out a massive strike last night with precision-guided weapons, including “Dagger” missiles and drones, on critical sites at airports in Ukraine, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced today, as quoted by TASS and Interfax.

“Tonight, the Armed Forces of Russia launched a massive strike with long-range, air-based precision-guided weapons, including Kinzhal air-ballistic missiles and combat drones, against critical infrastructure facilities at Ukrainian airports. All targeted targets were hit.” says the message of the Russian ministry.

Russian forces have established control over the village of Orlivka in the eastern part of the Donetsk region in Ukraine, the Russian Ministry of Defense also announced.

Reuters was unable to verify these reports through independent sources, BTA writes.

The head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, said today that Moscow does not believe that Ukraine planned its entry into the western part of Russia’s Kursk region on its own, TASS reported. Without providing evidence, Russia accused the United States of helping Kiev carry out its lightning entry into Russian territory on August 6, Reuters noted.
