Russia thwarts Ukrainian attempt to cross into Bryansk region, says official

MOSCOW/kyiv, (Xinhua) — Russian forces prevented a Ukrainian sabotage group from crossing into Russia’s western Briansk region, Governor Alexander Bogomaz said Wednesday.

Bogomaz noted that Russian Defense Ministry units and the country’s security forces thwarted an attempt this morning by six militants from a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group to cross into the region.

Five of the militants were killed, Bogomaz added in a Telegram post.

On the other hand, the ministry indicated that Ukraine lost up to 250 soldiers in the Donetsk direction in the last 24 hours.
