Moscow: Russian fighter jets have chased away British planes flying over the Black Sea. During this, the fighter planes of both the countries were face to face for some time. The Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday that a Russian Su-27 fighter plane intercepted Britain’s RC-135 reconnaissance plane and two Typhoon jets flying towards Russian airspace over the Black Sea. However, the British planes were flying in international airspace at that time. In such a situation, Russia asked those planes to go away as a precaution.

What the Russian Defense Ministry said

The Russian Defence Ministry said, “On July 26, Russian airspace control over the Black Sea region detected aerial targets moving towards the state border of the Russian Federation. To prevent violation of the state border of the Russian Federation, a Su-27 fighter jet from the air defence forces on duty was scrambled into the air. The crew of the Russian fighter jet identified the aerial targets as a British Air Force RC-135 strategic reconnaissance aircraft and two Typhoon fighter jets,” the ministry said. As the Russian fighter jet approached, the foreign military aircraft made a U-turn from Russia’s state border, the ministry said. This is the second such incident in a week.

Trying to put pressure on Russia

These days Britain is trying to put pressure on Russia because Russian submarines and warships are constantly patrolling near the British border. In such a situation, Britain is trying to surround Russia by taking similar action. Russian ships have been seen near the border of Britain and other NATO countries for the last several months. These warships are patrolling up to the Arctic and challenging the interests of NATO. In such a situation, Britain is trying to harass Russia through maximum reconnaissance flights from its airbase in Romania.
