Kyiv: Russia-Ukraine peace talks continue in Belatus. The main agenda is the withdrawal and ceasefire of the Russian army. Peace talks are being held on the Belarusian border. The Ukrainian delegation is led by Defense Minister Oleksi Resnikov. It is reported that the talks have reached the third round.
News agencies reported at the start of the talks that Russia was ready for an agreement. Russia has made it clear that it will not say in advance what it will say in the talks. Indications are that Russia will demand unconditional surrender and either abandon the NATO or EU membership requirement. But the world is watching to see if Ukraine will agree.
Meanwhile, the United States has asked its citizens in Russia to leave the country as soon as possible. Diplomatic officials were also instructed to return. The US embassy in Belarus was closed.
Peace talks on the one hand, and aggression on the other

Russia has threatened to cut off fuel and oil supplies to Europe in response to sanctions. European leaders have called a meeting to discuss the crisis. The image of Ukrainian President Vladimir Selensky as a brave hero defending a powerful Russia alone has skyrocketed. According to opinion polls, 90 percent of Ukrainians support his position. Six months ago, Selensky’s popularity was only thirty percent.
As the war entered its fifth day, the influx of refugees intensified. Four lakh people have already thrown everything away and reached the borders to save their lives. Romania, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Moldova have declared maximum humanitarian assistance to refugees.
Opposition from Russia itself
Putin’s Russia has been vocal in its opposition to Russia’s war on Ukraine. Russian tennis star Anastasia Pavlichenkova’s statement was announced today. The statement reads that personal interests and political ambitions do not justify violence. “Russia is my country and I am afraid of this war but I am not afraid to speak out against it,” he said.
