Russian attack on a shelter in Mariopol

The United States says Russia has shelled a theater in Mariopol, where people lined up for food and civilians sought refuge to escape the war. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has confirmed that several civilians were killed in the attack.

About 500 civilians were reported to have taken refuge in the theater. The attack on the theater raises concerns. Many civilians are stranded without water or electricity, an official with the Human Rights Watch said.

Russia’s Interfax news agency quoted the Russian Defense Ministry as saying that 13 buses carrying 300 refugees from Mariupol had arrived in the Rostov region of Russia.
