Volodymyr Zhelensky said that more efforts were needed to bring peace and that restraint was needed. He thanked US President Joe Biden and all of Ukraine’s allies for providing another $ 13.6 billion in aid to Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to address the US Congress on Wednesday. He called for more weapons, more sanctions against Russia, and a ceasefire over Ukraine to prevent Russian missiles and aircraft from flying.

Volodimir Zhelensky said on Tuesday that although Russian forces were unable to infiltrate further into the Ukrainian border, heavy shelling of cities continued. He said that although 28,893 civilians escaped through the 9th Safe Human Route on Tuesday, Russia did not allow them to enter Mariupol.

Russian forces are wreaking havoc in Kiev. Russian troops have intensified bombing raids on Kiev. An apartment building, a subway station and other public sites were destroyed. At the same time, terror bombs were detonated in Kiev last night.

In this context, a senior official of Volodymyr Zhelensky said on Tuesday that the talks between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations were very constructive. He said Russia had changed its tone and stopped calling for Ukraine to surrender.

Ahead of the talks on Tuesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia would insist that Ukraine abandon its attempt to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). The United Nations says about 700 people have been killed in the ongoing war in Ukraine, but the actual number could be higher.
