He even added that “there is reason to believe that these countries have the potential to commit acts of sabotage and terrorism.” Putin’s accusations come after Vladan Tatarsky, a Russian military blogger who is considered a big supporter of the Russian president, was killed in an explosion last Sunday while sitting in a cafe in St. Petersburg.
The Russians accused Daria Tarpova, a local woman, of being involved in the incident and carrying it out on the orders of Ukraine. According to the Russians, she handed him a “statue full of explosives”. Her husband claimed that she was wrongfully accused.
Meanwhile, Putin recently visited Mariupol, one of the Ukrainian cities that he announced to annex. He said that “the message in these areas remains tense”, and claimed that the Ukrainian authorities “continue to commit crimes against civilians in them”.
