Kyiv: There is a war going on between Russia and Ukraine. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has made a new plan to end the war with Russia. According to people associated with the matter, Zelensky has proposed organizing a summit in India with the aim of ending the war with Russia. According to people, he made this proposal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi last week, when he visited Ukraine. Zelensky’s goal is to organize a second meeting of the leaders before the US presidential election in November. Earlier a summit was held in June. Russia has not yet attended the Ukraine meeting. Russia and India have good relations. In such a situation, if Ukraine succeeds in holding a meeting in India, it will be a big success for Zelensky. According to the report, PM Modi has not yet agreed to this. Responding to a question, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, ‘PM Modi has indicated his willingness to play a constructive role in the peace process.’

Ukraine wants the support of the world

The need for a summit to end the war has become even more urgent as Russian forces tighten their grip on Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region. Ukraine was shaken by the Russian military’s surprise attack on Russia’s Kursk region this month. Zelenskyy’s spokesman Serhiy Nyakiforov said Ukraine is considering holding the summit in a country in the global south, particularly India. Zelenskyy wants the world’s support for his 10-point peace blueprint, which calls for the withdrawal of all Russian troops from Russian soil.

The meeting was held in June

Ukraine has agreed to involve Russia in the process. However, Russia has repeatedly said that it has no intention of accepting Kiev’s blueprint. The summit organized by Switzerland on June 15-16 was attended by more than 100 countries and organizations. But it did not get full support from the world. China did not participate in it. India, along with delegations including Indonesia and South Africa, refused to sign the final communique.
