In this war, the civilians of Ukraine are carrying guns and fighting against Russia.
Russia’s fierce offensive has devastated cities, including the Ukrainian capital Kiev, Kherson and Kharkov. In this context, President Volodymyr Zhelensky has promised to rebuild Ukraine after the war. He said Russia, which had carried out the operation against Ukraine, would pay back the damages.
He added: “We have survived two world wars, three famines, genocide, the Chernobyl nuclear accident, the occupation of Crimea and the war in the East. Russia has repeatedly tried to destroy us, but they have not. If anyone thinks we’re going to break up and surrender, they know nothing about us. Putin knows nothing about Ukraine. ”
More than 2,000 civilians and at least 498 Russian troops are said to have been killed in the clashes between Russia and Ukraine. In addition, the United Nations estimates that as a result of the war, about 160,000 Ukrainians have fled the country and taken refuge in neighboring countries.
