Russian cosmonauts complete first spacewalk in 2022

Russian ISS cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov and Pyotr Dubrov completed the first EVA of the new year on the evening of January 19 Moscow time.

The cosmonauts carried out work on the integration of the Berth node module. According to Roskosmos, Shkaplerov and Dubrov closed the exit hatch of the Poisk small research module.

Work outside the orbital station was started at 15:18 Moscow time and ended at 22:29 Moscow time (duration of exit – 7 hours and 11 minutes). For Shkaplerov, this work in open space was the third in his career, for Dubrov – the fourth.
