Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk met Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif today. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif welcomed Deputy Prime Minister Overchuk and his delegation to the Prime Minister House. Thanked President Putin for sending a high-level delegation.
The two sides also agreed to maintain regular contacts. The Prime Minister and the Russian Deputy Prime Minister also attended the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between Russia and Pakistan. Cooperation in energy, IT, agriculture, science and technology and education will be promoted.
Talking to the Russian Deputy Prime Minister, the Prime Minister said that strong relations with Russia are among the main priorities of Pakistan’s foreign policy. Pakistan is willing to expand trade, economic, energy, communication and security cooperation with Russia. Looking forward to welcoming Russian Prime Minister Mr. Mishustin in Islamabad, I had a very fruitful discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin in early July this year.
