Russian Veronika Kudermetova, 14th player in the world and seeded N.1, will face her compatriot Ekaterina Alexandrova, 26th in the world and defending champion, in the final of the WTA grass tournament in ‘s-Hertogenbosch (Netherlands), on Sunday.
On Saturday, the two Russian players easily got rid of their respective opponents in the semi-finals.
Kudermetova beat Slovak Viktoria Kuzmova 6-3, 6-2.
Eliminated in the first round at Roland-Garros after being a semi-finalist on clay in Madrid and Rome at the start of the spring, the native of Kazan, a doubles specialist, will be wary of Ekaterina Alexandrova who beat Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich ( N.7) 6-1, 7-6 (7/1).
Kudermetova leads two to one in their direct confrontations, but had been severely beaten last year (6-3, 6-1), already in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, in the semi-finals during their only confrontation on grass.
