Russian gas: Europe suspended on Nord Stream restart

In the middle of a heat wave, this may seem paradoxical. However, this week is likely to be decisive for warming us up next winter. Nord Stream 1, one of the main pipelines supplying gas to Europe, is currently undergoing maintenance. Its 1,220 km, built between 2005 and 2012 to connect Russia to Germany passing under the Baltic Sea, allow the transport of 55 billion m3 of gas per year to Europe. That is almost a third of its total Russian imports.
