A senior Western intelligence official has warned that war could spread to Europe if Russia invades Ukraine.
An unnamed British intelligence official commented to the international media: –
We should not be blind if Russia starts a war on Ukraine. He said the war would also take action against NATO members.
He said it was foolish to think that a nation could control war.
He expressed concern that this was more of a sustainable activity than one thought to be staged by Russia.
Chief of Defense Staff Admiral Sir Tony Radhakin told reporters: –
Russia’s military presence on its border with Ukraine is deeply worrying. He said the significance of the bad scenes in terms of Russia’s full-scale invasion would be unprecedented in Europe after World War II.
Russia’s military presence on the border continues, despite warnings from the United States and its NATO allies that any Russian occupation of Ukraine could have serious economic consequences.
Western intelligence estimates that Russia already has 100,000 troops stationed near the Ukrainian border with tanks and artillery. Washington has suggested that the force could reach 175,000 by the end of January.
The Western defense official said that if Russia wanted to launch an attack now, it could do so. But Russian forces concentrated on the border still do not see some key units. Full logistics support, ammunition reserves, field hospitals and blood banks were reported missing.
