For the first time in a month and a half, a Russian missile attack on Kiev tonight. The Ukrainians claim that all 31 missiles launched by Russia at the capital were intercepted, but there are 13 injured as a result of intercept fragments that landed on residential areas in western Kyiv. Some of the videos document quite deep craters that appear to be the result of a direct impact rather than fragments of interceptions.
A child is also among the injured. Major damages were caused to residential buildings and vehicles parked in the areas of the interceptions. The commander of the Ukrainian Air Force said that 29 cruise missiles and two ballistic missiles were used in the attack. The attack on Kyiv came a day after a missile attack on the city of Kharkiv, in which five people were killed and several others were injured.
President Zelensky emphasized after the attack that Ukraine needs more anti-aircraft systems to deal with the Russian missile threat.
