Russian media reported that Russian State Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu met with North Korean Chairman Kim Jong-un in North Korea on the 13th.

Russia’s state-run Interfax news agency reported on the 13th, citing the Russian National Security Council, that Chairman Kim and Secretary Shoigu discussed bilateral and international issues in Pyongyang, North Korea.

According to reports, the meeting was held in an atmosphere of trust and friendship following the agreement reached between the two leaders during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s state visit to Pyongyang in June.

North Korea and Russia signed the ‘Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty’ on the occasion of President Putin’s visit to North Korea in June.

The Russian National Security Council said the meeting “will make an important contribution to the implementation of the Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership signed by the two countries.”
