Problems accessing services Russian Railways arose on the afternoon of 5 July. The carrier’s app and website were reported to be intermittent.
Earlier, Vedomosti, citing a study by StormWall, wrote that almost a third of the largest Russian companies by revenue do not provide an adequate level of website protection from DDoS attacks. It was noted that all 100 rating companies provide site protection only at the low network level of the hosting provider. But if attackers attack the resource of a particular company, then 30% of companies will not be able to protect it – according to analysts, more than 90% of DDoS attacks follow this scenario.
An increase in the number of cyberattacks was also noted at the end of 2022. Shamil Chich, an analyst at the IZ:SOC cybersecurity monitoring center at Informzashchita, told Vedomosti that last year hacker attacks on the public sector increased by 2-3 times.
In addition, this was confirmed by the representative office of the Ministry of Digital Development. In particular, in 2022, attackers repeatedly attacked the Gosuslugi portal, but all attacks, according to the representative of the ministry, “passed without damage.”
