Russian swimmer Gontar won gold at the Paralympics

Russia’s Anastasia Gontar won the gold medal in the 50m freestyle swimming at the Tokyo Paralympics. The athlete covered the distance in 27.38 seconds.

Silver went to the representative of the Nielerlands Chantal Zijderveld (+0.04 sec), bronze – Canadian athlete Aurelie Rivar (+0.73).

This is the third gold medal for the Russian team at the Paralympics. Gold medals were also taken by Valeria Shabalina in the 100 m swim and Roman Zhdanov in the 50 m breaststroke. Swimmer Vladimir Danilenko won bronze in the 100 m backstroke.

Competitions are held in the capital of Japan until September 5.
