A Russian teaser of a new multi-part adaptation of Stephen King’s “King of Horrors”, “and with Adrian Brody in the title role!” Is presented on the YouTube channel of the “Amediateka” service! It’s about the show “Chapelwaite”, based on King’s story “The Settlement of Jerusalem.”
Oscar winner Brody played in it the aristocrat Charles Boone, who, after the death of his wife, moved with the children to the ancestral home. Where the protagonist, as usual, “has to learn a lot of family secrets and face the dark past of relatives.”
Other roles include Jennifer Ens, Sirena Gulamhaus, Ian Ho, Trina Corkam, Gord Rand and Emily Hampshire. The directors and producers include the people behind Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs, The Man in the High Castle, and Battlestar Galactica. Brody is also among the producers. The author of the original source worked on the adaptation script. There are ten episodes per season (recall: the enterprise is still based on a short story).

“The Settlement of Jerusalem” (“Lot of Jerusalem”, “Jerusalem’s lot” – Jerusalem’s Lot) is an early opus by King, first published in 1978 in the important collection “Night shift”. What is valuable – in the work here and there clear references to Lovecraft’s “The Myths of Cthulhu”, to the greatest extent – to “Rats in the Walls” can be seen.
