According to analysts, in the past 2021, domestic tourism in the country was actively developing, while compatriots increasingly preferred to organize their holidays on their own, without using the services of travel agents. They chose routes themselves, looked for housing. “The interest of Russians in the daily rent of apartments has grown one and a half times compared to the indicators of 2020,” experts from the Avito Real Estate service state
The highest dynamics among megacities was recorded in Moscow: tourists began to rent apartments here almost twice as often – plus 96 percent. A noticeable increase in demand was also noted in Novosibirsk – by 92 percent more often, in St. Petersburg – by 88 percent, and Nizhny Novgorod – by 85 percent and in Yekaterinburg by 83 percent.
“In terms of the total number of requests for tourist rental apartments in 2021, St. Petersburg, Moscow and Kazan became the leaders. The resorts Sochi and Krasnodar follow them in terms of the number of tourists,” the study says.
Another interesting trend was noticed by experts: people were actively interested in country houses for recreation. Demand for such real estate has grown by 29 percent compared to 2020. At the same time, more than others – in Makhachkala and Sochi, where demand has grown by more than one and a half times over the year. In Yekaterinburg, for example, the increase in interest was 31 percent.
Most often, and this is logical, travelers rented out-of-town apartments in the southern regions – Sevastopol, Sochi, Yalta and Krasnodar. Kazan also entered the top five.
“In general, over the past year, the tourism industry has quite successfully adapted to the new post-COVID realities, so in 2022 we should expect an increase in the number of trips around the country: according to our forecasts, the number of trips in Russia will grow by about 15 percent in the new year,” believes Artem Kromochkin, head of short-term rental of Avito Real Estate.
Meanwhile
The cost of daily rent of apartments increased by 7 percent and amounted to 1,600 rubles on average. The most expensive temporary housing in Yalta is about three thousand rubles per day. Next comes Sochi with a price of 2500, Moscow – 2400, and Sevastopol – 2200.
In the segment of suburban facilities, the capital is leading with an average cost of 16,000 per day of rest from the bustle of the city. Then comes Khabarovsk – 12 thousand. And for ten thousand a day you can pick up a house in Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk or St. Petersburg.
